Gemini is the chat layer on a Google account. Free access is broad; Google AI Pro / Ultra add higher limits and sit inside some Google One plans. If your slides are in Drive and your draft is in Docs, this is the assistant that can see them without a second upload ritual.
Campus Google accounts can restrict Gemini. Check before you build a workflow on it. It will still invent a source if you let it write the bibliography.
