Google Docs is still how group papers get written. Suggesting mode, comments, and a share link beat emailing Word files. It is free with a Google account. Offline works in Chrome if you enable it.
Citations are clumsier than Word + Zotero. Long theses often move to Word or Overleaf once the outline is done.
